Student Enterprise County Final

LEO Tipperary hosts event in Thurles

Local Enterprise Office Tipperary is proud to announce the upcoming Student Enterprise Programme County Final, set to take place on Friday, March 7, at the TUS Campus in Thurles. This event marks a significant milestone in Ireland's largest and most successful student enterprise initiative.

The County Final will showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of Tipperary's young business minds, with students from across the county presenting their innovative business ideas. Winners will advance to represent Tipperary at the National Final on May 8, competing against other talented young entrepreneurs from across Ireland.

The Student Enterprise Programme has engaged over 400,000 Irish students since its inception, with many participants going on to make significant contributions to national and international business.

In Tipperary alone, an estimated 2,200 students from 27 schools participated in the annual programme this year.

As a special feature, students will have the opportunity to attend a workshop led by Gary Fox, a serial entrepreneur, host of the award-winning Entrepreneur Experiment podcast and experienced educator. Fox will share insights on marketing strategies and the importance of storytelling in business.

Tina Mulhearne Student Enterprise Co-ordinator passionately believes: “The programme helps students develop essential business skills such as business planning, market research, selling and teamwork, preparing them for future entrepreneurial endeavours. By providing these experiences and skills, the Student Enterprise Programme significantly enhances students' preparedness for future careers, whether as entrepreneurs or in other professional roles.”

The event emphasises local economic support, with awards produced in Cahir, printing services sourced from Clonmel and Cashel and winners receiving Love Tipperary Gift Cards to promote over 160 local businesses.

Anthony Fitzgerald, Head of Enterprise at LEO Tipperary, stated: “The Student Enterprise Programme is a cornerstone in developing the next generation of Tipperary entrepreneurs. By providing students with real-world business experience and connecting them with local enterprises, we are investing in the future of our county's economy.”
