Artist space for Nenagh

Cllr Joe Hannigan has called for a dedicated space for artists in Nenagh.

He recalled how a number of artists rented a vacant premises in the town last December with great success. Speaking during a recent meeting of Nenagh Municipal District, Cllr Hannigan wondered if the local authority could provide such a space for artists on a permanent basis. He also spoke of opportunities for promoting Irish music culture and recording music.

Ann Marie Keaveney of Tipperary Arts Office replied that the council is looking into acquiring a premises in the town of Nenagh that could be used by artists.
