Bumper crowd attends Newport parade
Brilliant sunshine provided the perfect setting for one of the most successful ever St Patrick's Day Parades at Newport on Saturday.
Three marching bands, more than a score of decorated floats, several community groups and a selection of beautifully restored vintage cars took more than an hour and a quarter to pass the viewing stand at Main Street.
The beautiful weather brought out thousands of spectators, from the very young to the not so young, who lined both sides the length of the street to watch the variety on offer.
