Call to support soccer tournament
A sportsman from Moneygall who has embarked on fundraiser is seeking support from local soccer clubs.
Michael Bergin is hoping to reach a target of €2,000 and has organised a seven-a-side soccer tournament to generate funds. This is part of his contribution towards taking part in a giant Quid Game fundraiser in support of Moneygall GAA and Moneygall Football Club which is to be staged in May.
If Michael is lucky enough to win some money from the Quid Game event he will donate a portion of the funds to Féileacháin, the not-for-profit organisation that provides support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy.
Michael, who now lives in Newport, is hosting the soccer tournament on astro-pitches in the University of Limerick on Good Friday, April 18, from 11am to 4pm. The games will be played on four pitches on the North Campus of the university.
