Teens want to study in libraries
Nenagh councillor Louise Morgan Walsh has asked Tipperary Co Council Library Service to lower the after-hours age limit for teenagers seeking to study in libraries.
Speaking during a service presentation at last month's meeting of Nenagh Municipal District, Cllr Morgan Walsh said students under the age of 18 can't access libraries after-hours. A lot of students are sitting the Leaving Cert at the age of 17 and it would be helpful if they could attend their local library to study after school, she said.
Senior Executive Librarian Pat Bracken understood the situation and said he would discuss it with the county librarian and management team.
