The 2025 Mike Stanley Memorial took place over the course of two Wednesday evenings last month with 22 players involved.

We had the usual members and snooker regulars such as Dave Garrett, Tony Seymour, Adam O’Brien, Tom Ford and many more along with some of Mike Stanley's family members and friends.

The first Wednesday saw the 22 players reduced to the last 4 and pitted Dave Garrett against Mike Costello in one semi-final and Gary Power took on Liam (Billy) Kelly in the other.

Mike & Liam would prevail and meet in the final with the game going down to the very last ball of the tournament and into the early hours of the following morning, it was Liam Kelly who called the middle pocket before pulling off an unbelievable three cushion trick shot to claim the Mike Stanley Memorial Trophy, the Gold medal, and cash prize.

A brilliant effort from Mike Stanley who only played on behalf of the Stanley's and received a silver medal and cash prize himself.

The New Institute club would like to thank the Stanley family for their loyal support of this competition every year staying till the very end this year been so late. And of course, there generosity bringing food for all. Also, thanks to tournament Directors Eddie Ryan and David Lynch.
