Ballymackey Ladies set for title decider

Ballymackey Women host Athlone’s Willow Park this Sunday, 13th April at 2.00pm in their last CCFL League game of the season with the destination of the title on the line between both sides.

A win for Ballymackey will see them crowned champions, but a win for Willow Park will see them only require a draw in their final match away to Killeigh ‘B’ to take the title, and this is a game they would be fancied to win.

A playoff between the sides would be the likely outcome if this Sundays game ends in a draw. A tight encounter is expected between the two sides as over the last couple of years there have been three league draws and three cup fixtures going to extra time.

Regardless of the outcome on Sunday, it has been a fantastic 2024/2025 season for Ballymackey in a very competitive Combined Counties Football League, sustaining a League challenge to the last day of the season is a huge achievement, particularly with Ballymackey dealing with long distance travel for their away fixtures again their Midlands based opponents.
