‘Big Maggie’ to stage again

Production of one of Listowel playwright John B Keane's most popular plays by a local drama group is shaping into becoming one of their most successful productions in a number of years on stage.

After a five-night ‘sell out’ run, the Rearcross Drama Group production of ‘Big Maggie’ returns to the local stage again on this Saturday night, April 26, by popular demand. Such was the clamour for seats at the performances earlier this month that the ‘house full’ sign on the final nights resulted in a number of people being unable to gain admission. To compensate, the group have decided, for the first time in a number of years, to return to the stage for an additional performance at the Community Hall, Rearcross on this Saturday night, April 26 with curtain up at 8pm.

Production is in the capable hands of Prof Gerry Boyle, whose decades of experience shows in the casting of the parts in each production he directs and the manner in which he gets the utmost from every member of the cast. Gerry makes no secret of his admiration for the members of Rearcross Drama Group as among the best he has ever worked with over his lifetime involvement in drama, and for which he shows a deep love.

The cast of this production of ‘Big Maggie are Nancy Caplis, Tommy Dwyer, Pat McLoughlin, Michael Corcoran, his wife Joan and daughter Siobhan, Aaron McMahon, Gabriel Clifford, Liz McFarlan, Cáit Hammersley and Billy Caplis.
