Arrests over local incidents

Gardaí have arrested two indviduals in relation to a number of alleged offences following separate incidents in Borrisokane and Capparoe.


A local man was arrested in possession of keys of a stolen vehicle in Borrisokane last Thursday. The man, who is in his 50s, was questioned by gardaí in relation to a number of alleged offences around the country.


He has since been charged in relation to 17 offences of deception in Tipperary and Limerick. The suspect appeared before a special court sitting in Limerick, where he was granted bail.


A number of incidents under investigation in Capparoe last weekend led to gardaí arresting another male. The alleged incidents include thefts from two vehicles as well as trespassing and theft of property. The suspect is described as a man in his 20s from the Nenagh area. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.


Elsewhere, gardaí seized approximately €500 worth of suspected cocaine when they stopped and searched a vehicle on Nenagh's Limerick road at around 4pm last Sunday. A male was arrested and a file is being prepared for the DPP.


Also in the last week, a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a report of erratic driving in the Terryglass area at 5.30pm last Sunday. He was processed at Nenagh Garda Station and a file to the DPP will follow.
