Borris-Ileigh show they are more than a one-trick pony

When you are rolling it just continues to flow and that is how it is for the Borris-Ileigh senior hurlers at the moment.

Playing in the biggest game of their lives at the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Sunday, Borris-Ileigh made it look like just another game in Nenagh or Dolla as their lack of All Ireland semi-final experience compared to St Thomas' proved no obstacle as they booked a ticket to Croke Park for the All Ireland Final.

Throughout their run to the county and provincial titles, all the plaudits towards Borris-Ileigh have been towards their attitude and never say die spirit and that was in evidence once more, indeed to a higher level as their workrate was essentially the difference as their willingness to harry and hassle their opponents into turning over possession or in conceding frees yielded eight points which proved to be the final margin.

Indeed seven points was harsh on St Thomas' who were well in the game going into the closing stages but missed chances cost them dearly, shooting fifteen wides, but you couldn't say they were the architects of their own downfall as after Borris-Ileigh recovered from the concession of the tenth minute goal to Eanna Burke, they always looked in control of the game, bar a five minute spell early in the second half when the Galway side rattled off three points in a row to nudge in front.

However, as we have seen from Borris-Ileigh throughout the entire campaign, they don't panic as it all comes down to the final ten minutes where they have proven to the #TheToughest and when you have Brendan Maher in your side anything is possible.
