November exhibition at Nenagh Library

Nenagh Library is delighted to welcome Mary Keane, who will be exhibiting with us for the month of November.

Born and reared near Lough Derg, Mary still lives with her family in the locality. Currently finishing her degree in Limerick School of Art and Design, she draws inspiration from historic pieces of fashion, which have influenced the costumes on display this month with their rich textures and jewel like colours.

Mary has exhibited before, with shows in the Picture House Gallery, Quay Arts Centre, Wexford Opera House and Thomas McDonagh Centre. Her paintings hang in schools, churches and private collections. This exhibition in Nenagh Library provides a wonderful showcase for her artistic and creative personality, with a range of art and creative techniques on display, all in vibrant colours and effortlessly combining features of the natural world as well as the divine.

Large-scale, wonderfully detailed paintings sit side by side with smaller, more intimate still lifes of loved ones. A talented family, Mary is delighted to be able to share the limelight with her young daughter, Carissa, one of whose poems hangs in the exhibition as well.
