Strong half time words have desired effect for Toome

Toomevara selector Denis Kelly said that strong words at half time made the difference in overcoming an almost disastrous first half in the North Tipperary Under 21 'A' Hurling final against Kilruane MacDonaghs on Sunday.

“It was a game of two halves. We didn’t start at all,” he began.

“There was a bit of a breeze and Kilruane started really strong. We could not handle them but our backs had been brilliant and it was twenty minutes before we scored. But we got our match ups right after the first ten minutes.

“Look, we had strong words at half time and it seemed to work because the lads have great heart and they showed what they are capable of in the second half,” said Denis who is a selector along with Kevin Cummins, Ken Dunne and Thomas Dunne.
