Green light for Portroe school plan

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for an extension at Portroe National School.

The plan involves a single-storey extension with basement level storage space and alterations for special needs purposes to a Protected Structure.

The planned extension will provide two additional classrooms and associated corridors, sanitary and all ancillary works.

Two withdrawal rooms and four storage rooms at basement level are also planned, along with changes to create a defined front entrance with a new covered porch and new universal access pedestrian entrance.

A new rear entrance, internal alterations to provide two multi-purpose rooms, a sensory room, staff room, office, associated corridors, sanitary, storage areas and all ancillary works are included in the plan.
