Portroe-born businessman Declan Kelly is to play a key role in a global event featuring the world's leading musical performers to pay a tribute to health care workers and generate funds to fight the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide.
Mr Kelly's firm Teneo is supporting the global televised and streamed special to be hosted on April 18th, and is expected to generate a huge amount of cash for the World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Mr Kelly, whose firm already sponsors the Tipperary hurling team and who is a brother of the newly elected Labour Party Leader, Alan, will serve as Executive Producer of the event, curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga and featuring leading artists and personalities such as Amon Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba.
Also featuring will be J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder.
Mr Kelly's firm is playing a central role in helping to organise the mega event, titled, ‘One World: Together At Home’.
The global broadcast special is hosted by international advocacy organisation Global Citizen, an entity whose work is greatly supported by Mr Kelly who sits on its board.
The event will pay tribute to frontline healthcare workers around the world as they lead the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The special will air on Saturday, April 18th from 5 to 8pm on several networks around, including on RTÉ and on many of the major television and social media channels.
This special event will include stories from the world's healthcare heroes battling the spread of Covid-19, messages of gratitude and appreciation from those that they have helped and segments from WHO and UN global health experts.

"As the world comes together to respond to the Covid-19 crisis, Teneo is very proud to be involved in supporting and helping to organise this incredible initiative along with so many other great partners," said Declan Kelly, Chairman and CEO of Teneo.
"We have a long-standing partnership with Global Citizen and are deeply committed to doing our part to help rally private sector support for this critical effort."
He added: "Through music, entertainment and impact, the global live-cast will celebrate those who risk their own health to safeguard everyone else’s."
Donations from supporters and corporate sponsors will go to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support and equip healthcare workers around the world, and to local charities that provide food and shelter to those that need it most.
