'Cash on Delivery' by the Nenagh Players
The Nenagh Players present the hilarious 'Cash on Delivery', written by Michael Cooney and directed by Irene O'Meara, at Nenagh Arts Centre from Wednesday November 18th - Sunday November 22nd at 8:30pm each night.
There is a Gala Night in aid of Nenagh Special Summer Camp on Wednesday 18th, with a wine and cheese reception in Rocky's bar from 7:15pm. Tickets for the Gala Night cost €20 and can be got from the Nenagh Payers Committee or the organisers of the Nenagh Special Summer Camp.
The play centres around Eric Swan (Kevin Walshe), who has been defrauding the DSS for two years by claiming benefit for numerous fictitious lodgers, all of whom suffer from a variety of ailments for which they can claim, and who have extended families with similar ailments! His wife Linda (Lisa McGeeney) is completely oblivious to all this and, as the play begins, Eric finds that it is all getting too complicated.
Following a visit from DSS Inspector Mr Jenkins (Noel Stanley) Eric tries to extricate himself from his web of deceit in the most unorthodox ways; Eric's lodger Norman McDonald (Paddy Rohan) and his uncle George (Michael Donegan) get sucked in to assist him.
Joining in the fun is Sally Chessington (Heather Broad), Dr Chapman (Margaret Walshe) and Mr Forbright (Kevin Heffernan), the undertaker. The plot is further complicated by the arrival of Norman's fiancée Brenda Dixon (Marie Nagle) and Mr Jenkins' boss the formidable Ms Cooper (Edel O'Brien).
The play is very well cast and promises to be a great night’s entertainment, so don’t miss out – get your tickets by phoning DK Travel at 067-37964 or the Nenagh Players on 089-4994661.
