Grace and Ryan continue winning run at Clonmel
CREPELLO
Toomevara trainer James Grace and rider Trevor Ryan continued in their rich vein of form when they combined to take the two mile and a furlong 80-93 handicap hurdle with De Bennette at Clonmel on Thursday.
A thirteen race maiden coming into the race, the daughter of Beneficial was easy to back at 10&12/1, however, she failed to read the script as she stuffed the opposition good and proper.
Settled just behind the leaders, De Bennette was always travelling smoothly, she took over on the downhill run to the straight and with Ryan keeping her up to her work comfortably landed the spoils by eight lengths from Working Capitol.
This success was a long time coming for the eleven-year-old who is an only sister to another stable stalwart De Benno. If she can retain this level of form there is no reason why she can't add to this victory. She has proven difficult to keep right so it's good to see the patience rewarded.
