'Leap of Kindness Day' in Nenagh

Nenagh will be the first community outside the USA to mark the leap year by celebrating a 'Leap of Kindness Day' this Saturday, February 29th.

What will you do with the extra day? Why not use your extra day to do something kind?

You can join in the Nenagh & District Chamber of Commerce #leapofkindnessday celebration simply by doing something kind for someone else and, if someone else does something kind for you, then pay it forward. You can band together with your co-workers and organise a food or clothing drive. You can champion your own community’s celebration on Leap of Kindness Day.

Nenagh & District Chamber of Commerce is the very first chamber of commerce outside the United States to join in this event, which was begun by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce four years ago. The second Leap of Kindness Day will take place this Saturday, February 29th.

Leap of Kindness Day happens every four years. The idea is to get as many people in our community as possible to use the extra day we all get in a leap year to do something kind for someone else.

Non-profit organisations: Are you a member of a non-profit organisation that would like a bit of extra help? Perhaps you need a room painted or for people to donate supplies. Contact Chamber@Nenagh.ie and let us know what you need. We will make sure everyone knows! Also, consider this as a way for the community to find out about what your group does.

Kind volunteers: Looking for like-minded people? Already volunteering and would like to see more people join you? Tell us what you will be doing on the day and possibly give other people an idea.

Nenagh & District Chamber of Commerce will be donating a platter of food (from The Pantry, Country Choice, Simply Food, The Foodhall, The Peppermill and Cinamon Alley) to Nenagh Garda Station this Saturday as a token of thanks for all the work the gardaí do in our community.

Also among the acts of kindness taking place locally on the day, Country Choice will be giving cups of coffee to people with bus passes; Totalcare Clinic will be offering discounts for HSE staff, teachers, search & rescue personnel and gardaí; and Forógie will be donating supplies to asylum seeker children living locally.
