Dates Released for the 2017 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Irish Stallion Trail
The third running of the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing (ITM) Irish Stallion Trail will take place on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th January 2017. The weekend trail takes place again in between two premium days of racing with the Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase at Gowran Park on Thursday 26th January, followed by the BHP Insurances Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday 29th January.
Over 20 stud farms will open their doors just before the official opening of the traditional covering season, offering breeders the opportunity to see some of the best stallions in the world.
Commenting on the ITM Irish Stallion Trail, ITM’s Marketing Manager, Sarah Gavin, said: “The 2016 ITM Irish Stallion Trail was a fantastic weekend building on the huge success of 2015. We saw increased numbers visiting the farms, in particular the smaller farms, and in attendance was a good mix of owners, breeders and racing public, with overseas visitors from Britain, France, Italy, Germany and further afield. The 2017 trail is again nestled between two great days of racing, showcasing the very best of Irish racing and breeding. The full list of participating farms will be released in the coming months.”
