Seamus Callanan keen on league success

Seamus Callanan is keen to back up Tipperary’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling success, with an Allianz League Division 1 crown this Spring.
The Premier County top the Roll of Honour for the League with 19 titles, but haven’t won the Dr. Croke Cup since 2008, where they are just one title ahead of Kilkenny, who have annexed nine titles since the turn of the century. The quest for silverware begins with a home tie against reigning champions Limerick on Saturday at Semple Stadium
“It is great to be back hurling again and playing games in the Allianz League every weekend, it's going to be very exciting because inter-county hurling has gone so competitive now, ” Callanan said at the launch of the 2020 Allianz Hurling Leagues at Croke Park on Monday.
"There are so many teams that can be successful and five different Allianz League champions over the last five years just goes to show how competitive it is and we're really looking forward to getting going again and putting 2019 behind us and moving on."
The 31-year old says that Tipperary’s team holiday capped what was a memorable 2019, and helped draw the line on that achievement.
"It was a nice reward for 2019 but when you come back then it just closes the door on 2019 as well and the second you get off the plane, you're in 2020 mode and it's great to enjoy the successful year we had and enjoy it with the panel and your partners.
"So it was important for everyone but now back, fully focused and driving forward,” he said.
