Drom & Inch are defending Division 1 Hurling League champions

Draws made for hurling leagues and football championships

Tipperary County Board have confirmed the groups for this years County Hurling Leagues which will get underway on 7-8 March.

Division 1 again sees sixteen teams divided into two groups of eight with the top two teams in each group playing in the semi-finals. In terms of relegation, both bottom teams in each group will drop to division 2 to be replaced by the finalists from Division 2. The second bottom teams in division 1 will playoff with the loser also being relegated, to be replaced by the playoff winner from the second from top teams in division 2. This will continue so from divisions 2 through 5.

Division 1 holders Drom & Inch start away to Mid rivals Loughmore-Castleiney while county and Munster club champions Borris-Ileigh will begin away to Eire Og Annacarty. Promoted sides Lorrha and Clonakenny have tough openers against Kiladangan and Clonoulty/Rossmore respectively.

Tipperary County Board revealed the pairings for the opening round of the County Senior, Intermediate & Junior 'A' Football Championships which will be played on the last weekend in March. In terms of North Tipperary, there is no senior team with Kiladangan having been relegated and they face Drom & Inch in their opening game while Borrisokane square off against Moyle Rovers.

21 teams line-up in Junior 'A' football with Inane Rovers, Ballina and Newport all entering teams which is a positive, joining Portroe who were defeated finalists last year while Kilruane MacDonaghs have joined the junior 'B' championship along with Nenagh Eire Og and last years semi-finalists Lorrha but the first round of this championship won't be played until 18-19 April.
