Keep Going Tipp

Keep Going”

They are two small words but say everything about the Tipperary senior hurlers and their second half performance to come from behind with fourteen men to defeat Wexford in Sunday's dramatic All Ireland semi-final at Croke Park.

They aren't just any words, they were uttered by Tipperary captain Seamus Callanan in a steely stare to Seamus Kennedy after 55 minutes just as they had erased a five point deficit not long after John McGrath's red card saw them reduced to fourteen men.

Keep Going - Not only did they have to recover from that set-back, as well as Wexford hitting for 1-2 not long after, when they had that work done, they conceded a third goal, having to being the process all over again.

Keep Going – Their focus never wavered and not only did they recover again, they had to deal with another refereeing set-back which saw Jake Morris' injury time goal ruled out after advantage wasn't played following a foul on Seamus Callanan.

Not many teams would have coped with the adversity that was thrown at Tipperary on Sunday without losing their cool and this is when you know you have a special group on your hands.

Within this county, criticism can be cutting and for the two All Ireland's many within this group have won in 2010 and 2016, there was always the sense they haven't got the credit they deserve for it, as many feel they have underachieved.
