'Don't Tell the Wife'!
Ballyskenach Drama Group take to the stage this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with their 12th annual production.
This year's play, titled, 'Don't Tell the Wife', written by Sam Cree, is a thrilling comedy set in the 1960s. It is based around a plumber and his wife; a neighbour, who thrives on gossip and spreading same; the plumber's apprentice, who seems more eager to learn not so much from his boss about plumbing but what route he should take in his quest for a prospective wife; a greyhound and a high-flying retired RAF bomber pilot, who has taken to working as an escort for an escort agency and is fond of an ould whiskey.
Throw in a lodger – supposed to be male who but arrives as a beautiful young French female lodger, and a prospective suitor for the young apprentice – mix all these components together and allow to cook for approximately two hours or less, and you will be guaranteed to go home with a smile on your face and feeling of satisfaction that can only be gotten from live amateur drama in rural Ireland.
Where? Citeaux Hall, Roscrea. When? Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 20th, 21st and 22nd. Time? Curtain up at 8.15pm sharp.
