Fleadh night at nenaghs scouts hall
Another big night out beckons in Nenagh this Saturday with a spring concert fundraiser for the Munster Fleadh Cheoil.
Some 80 musicians of the recently formed Ned Kelly Youth Orchestra will perform at the concert, which will now be staged at the Scouts Hall. The event was initially planned for Nenagh Arts Centre but has been moved to the larger venue due to the number of musicians taking part.
Led by Ballycommon button accordionist Ned Kelly, the youth orchestra was formed last year. It featured at a University of Limerick concert in memory of Kerry teenager Donal Walsh, who lost his inspirational battle with cancer a few years ago.
Ned is a well-renowned music teacher with his local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann and he has brought through many young students with a very high standard of music.
Also performing on the night will be members of the Silvermines Folk Choir, led by Sheelagh Chadwick. The choir is very popular with all age groups and has a unique blend of voices that captivates audiences.
Admission is only €10 and a great night's entertainment is assured with all proceeds going towards Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan, which will be staged in Nenagh from July 12th – 19th.
