Official opening of Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) Charity Shop Tipperary
IWA’s Tipperary Charity Shop will be officially opened on Friday by local sportsman Cathal Barrett.
The new charity shop located on Main Street is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time freely to support the day to day running of the shop. All funds raised in the charity shop are immediately invested into the essential services IWA delivers from its Resource and Outreach Centre based in Brodeen, Cashel Road, Tipperary Town.
The Day Centre is one of the principal ways Irish Wheelchair Association delivers services to people living in Tipperary Town and the surrounding areas. Currently, the centre supports 40 people with physical disabilities and others with mobility impairments on a weekly basis. The aim of the centre is to provide opportunities to people with disabilities so that they can lead full, active, integrated and independent lives in their own local communities.
IWA is asking local people to support the shop by donating pre-loved items and quality goods. Items that will be gratefully accepted include clothes, shoes, handbags, school wear, books, toys, bric a brac, drapery, bed linen, unwanted gifts and small items of furniture. The Charity Shop offers a collection service for larger products. The Charity Shop will open from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Saturday.
