Nenagh Castle is one of the county's most popular tourism attractions.

Nenagh tourist office plan on display

Plans for a new tourist office and for the enhancement of Banba Square in Nenagh are now on public display.
The development is to involve internal modifications to the current Nenagh Arts Centre to provide a tourist information office. Provision of a wheelchair accessible ramp to the front entrance of the tourist office is also planned, along with new paving on Banba Square, undergrounding of ESB and Eir services at O’Rahilly Street, alterations of the existing boundary wall of the former motor tax office, and provision of new street furniture, lighting, soft landscaping and trees.
Further plans include alteration to the monument surrounds on the square, installation of new directional signage, and removal of trees outside Nenagh Arts Centre. The works, which are within an Architectural Conservation Area, are likely to be undertaken on a phased basis.
The plans and particulars can be inspected at the Civic Offices up until January 30th. Tipperary Co Council is inviting submissions or observations up to February 13th.
