Portumna athletes represent Ireland
Five members of Portumna Kettlebell Club last month represented Ireland at the IUKL World Championships in Seoul, South Korea.
They qualified having placed in the top 3 in their weight division at the Irish nationals in Dublin last August. This is the culmination of a year's hard training in which four of them already competed in the European championships in Latvia last May.

Results: Mary Burke in weight division minus 63kg was extremely unlucky, being one rep off a Bronze lifting 16kg in Long Cycle. Damien Burke in weight division minus 86kg won Silver in the Long Cycle.
Morgan Claffey in weight division minus 73kg won Gold in Biathlon and Silver in Long Cycle. Pat Kelly in weight division minus 85kg won Silver in Biathlon and Silver in Long Cycle. Olivia Cahalan in weight division minus 63kg won Gold lifting 16kg in Long Cycle, Gold in Veteran Long Cycle and Silver in Snatch.
