Update sought on lighting on Nenagh bypass

Local councillor Hughie McGrath has sought a timeframe for the installation of public lighting on Nenagh’s N52 bypass walkway.

A €250,000 allocation for the popular walking, running and cycling route was announced by the Minister for Transport earlier this year.

Director Marcus O’Connor told last month’s meeting of Nenagh Municipal District that discussions are ongoing with the National Transport Authority. These concern design and the possibility of widening the footpath. Mr O’Connor assured that the lighting scheme will be going ahead, probably later this year.
