Junior ‘A’ Football Championship: The North Junior ‘A’ Football Final between Portroe and Ballina was originally scheduled to take place last Monday 1st November. This fixture was changed to Tuesday 2nd November at 7.30pm in Dr Morris Park Thurles with no result at time of going to print.

Junior ‘B’ Football Championship: Congratulations to Nenagh Eire Og who claimed the North Junior ‘B’ football title last Saturday in Nenagh after a 2-8 to 1-5 win over Shannon Rovers. Eire Og captain James Mackey accepted the trophy from North Board Secretary Philip Delaney after the game. Eire Og will take on Clonakenny in the County semi-final in the coming weeks.

Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship: Ballina booked their place in the North Junior ‘C’ Final after an impressive 0-16 to 0-9 victory over Roscrea last Saturday. They will take on Kiladangan in the final which is scheduled to take place this Sunday in Borrisokane at 2.15pm.

County Championships: It was a tough weekend, for the most part, for the North sides who were in County semi-final action. In the Senior ‘A’ semi-final, Kiladangan relinquished their title after losing to Thurles Sarsfields while Borris-Ileigh were also defeated after a strong final quarter showing from Loughmore/Castleiney.

Moneygall lost to an impressive Kisheelan/Kilcash in the Intermediate semi-final whilst Nenagh Eire Og were defeated by Holycross/Ballycahill, in the Junior ‘A’ semi-final.

However, all was not lost, with Templederry Kenyons putting in the performance of the weekend in the Seamus O Riain semi-final, defeating Cashel King Cormacs.

In the coming weeks, Kiladangan are due to take on JK Brackens in the County Junior ‘B’ Hurling semi-final with Nenagh Eire Og and Clonakenny to face off in the Junior ‘B’ Football semi-final, while Ballina and Newport will be in Under 19 Football semi-finals.
