Success for local student at National Young Breeders comp

Michelle Dunne from Ballinaclough was placed in two competitions at the Young Breeders National Championships at Kildalton College, Piltown, Co Kilkenny last Saturday.

Michelle finished in sixth position overall which gets her through to the final selection process for the team to represent Ireland at the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses Young Breeders World Championships in Ermelo, Holland in July.

The ISH Young Breeders programme is a joint programme between Teagasc and Horse Sport Ireland. It is aimed at those between the ages of 15 to 25 years who are interested in assessing, exhibiting, and breeding performance horses.

Michelle is in the final year of her Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Equine Management at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) in Enniskillen. Originally from Sandyford in Dublin, Michelle, along with her family, relocated to Ballinenagh, Ballinaclough earlier this year.
