Dogs seized by wardens

A total of 148 dogs were surrendered or seized by Tipperary Co Council's dog wardens in the first half of this year.

Of this number, 26 dogs were re-homed, 92 were sent to rescue shelters and 11 dogs were reclaimed. Six were put to sleep.

The number of dog licenses purchased to date is 3,296. The council continues to work with the animal welfare organisations in the re-homing of dogs.
