Moneygall GAA among beneficiaries of Clár funding
TDs Jackie Cahill and Michael Lowry have welcomed the news that over €175,000 is to be delivered to community projects across Tipperary under the Clár programme.
They said five community projects in the county will share a total of €175,135 announced by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.
Deputy Lowry said the Tipperary funding was part of of an overall €2.75m package to support 74 community projects across the country.
He said sports clubs, schools and community groups will receive grants of up to €50,000 to develop a range of projects that will benefit people of all ages.
Meanwhile, Deputy Cahill said the significant funding includes almost almost €50,000 to construct a community sensory garden and a new rain play area at Lismackin, Roscrea.
He said: “I’m delighted to see this significant funding announcement for several local organisations across Tipperary.
“Community groups and sports clubs across Tipperary are the spirit of our community and it’s important we continue to invest in them to upgrade and maintain facilities.”
Deputy Cahill said almost €50,000 will go to Ballingarry Community Field for the development of a walkway and car park. Moneygall GAA Club will also receive €50,000 to improve the safety of their driveway and parking facilities.
“This funding across Tipperary will be of huge benefit to local people and I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure further funding for Tipperary Community Groups,” said Deputy Cahill.
