Autocross success for Cavanagh brothers

Cloughjordan brothers John and Willie Cavanagh finished in first and second place respectively in the Motorsport Ireland Autocross Irish Grass Championships last Sunday.

There was strong North Tipperary representation at the nationalBirr event in Dublin, which also saw Zara Moynan of Nenagh winning the Ladies championship. All of the drivers are members of the Birr & District Motor Club.

For the champion John, the victory crowned the end of a very exciting year in which he also won back the memorial trophy named after he and Willie's father, Billy Cavanagh of Modreeney, Cloughjordan, a six-time national autocross champion in the 1970s and '80s.
