Shotgun stolen in one of several burglaries

Gardaí are seeking public assistance in their investigation into a burglary in which a shotgun was stolen on the outskirts of Nenagh.

It is understood that a house was broken into on Plunkett Street some time between 2pm and 10pm on Thursday, October 27. A shotgun was stolen. The incident was one of several burglaries reported in the district in recent weeks.

Last Monday, there was another break-in at a business premises at Cork Road, Newport, in the early hours of the morning. Gardaí arrested an individual at the scene; he has since been charged to court. Also in the Newport area, a van was reported stolen at Ballymackeogh, between the hours of 11.30pm and 8am last Monday/Tuesday.

In Roscrea, gardaí are harvesting CCTV footage in their investigation into the theft of a number of road barriers from an industrial estate compound in Roscrea. This incident occurred over the bank holiday weekend.

Catalytic converter thefts are being reported in the district again. One was removed from a vehicle at Coille Bheithe, Nenagh, overnight between October 27 and 28. Another was taken from a car parked on Limerick St, Roscrea, between November 1 and 2. Gardaí are urging the public to be mindful of how quickly and easily criminals can steal catalytic converters.
