Return of Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival
The Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival is back!
After two years of cancellation of activities because of Covid, St Mary’s Church of Ireland in Nenagh is very pleased to welcome you back. Our 2022 festival will take place from December 7 to 11 with the times for Wednesday-Friday, 1 – 5.30pm; Saturday and Sunday, 11 - 6pm. The Carol service will start on Sunday at 6.30pm.
We encourage you to enter an exhibit, either a tree or perhaps something else that expresses the joys of Christmas. A number of window sills and other areas are available that can be used to exhibit smaller trees and displays.
Setup times are Saturday, December 3, 4-8pm and Monday, December 5, 2 - 6pm. To enter an exhibit, please contact us by email at nenaghchristmastrees2022@gmail.com. We need your name and contact details, approximate size of your tree or other items, and is it free-standing or needs to be against a wall, if it needs plug-in electricity, category for your exhibit (Business or Retail, Individual, Organisation) and when you hope to bring in your exhibit. Non-twinkling lights are allowed, but no candles.
We will organise the display to provide a suitable location for each item. We reserve the right to remove any tree or exhibit or any decoration which we consider to be unsafe or inappropriate, or which might be upsetting to others. One of the great delights of past Christmas Tree Festivals has been to discover so much creativity in our community. It has been so interesting to see perfectly ordinary objects turned in to magic displays, sometimes of great fantasy, sometimes sobering truths. We encourage every exhibitor to be creative, environmentally-friendly and perhaps follow a theme representing your organisation or activities.
But there’s more than just displays. Next week we will look at some of the other things on offer. In the meantime, it isn’t too early to start planning your exhibit! We look forward to hearing from you.
