Customers invited to Thursday’s event in Portumna
SuperValu, Ireland’s leading food retailer, will launch its new look, state-of-the-art store in Portumna, following a significant investment of €1.2 million on Thursday, December 8.
O’Meara’s SuperValu Portumna has been a central part of the local community for decades and has given 800 local people their first job. They are continuing this tradition of providing local jobs with this latest store revamp by hiring new chef, bakery, and barista team members.
The new look SuperValu, which launches this Thursday, December 8, is set to offer an extended range of top-quality produce including a new Frank & Honest café, Moo’d ice cream, a new instore bakery with special handmade donuts, new hot food counter, new food-to-go range and new a Happy Pear range. The state-of-the-art store will also now offer a seasonal offers space, a value offer space and a new own brand area.
Customers are invited to the official store launch on Thursday, December 8 for a day of fun and activities, with many prizes to be won.
Supporting local is of key importance to the team in O’Meara’s SuperValu Portumna and customers will be able to try out hundreds of products from local producers and products from 1,800 Irish suppliers.
The O’Meara’s SuperValu team are committed to sustainability and have gone to extensive lengths to be as environmentally conscious as possible, investing €700,000 into sustainability within the store’s innovative design. By January 2023, all fridges in store will be brand new energy efficient models with doors. This will reduce up to 75% of their electricity usage. In addition, 94% of SuperValu’s own brand packaging is either recyclable, reusable or compostable while Frank & Honest cups are fully compostable.

The new state-of-the-art store will offer our customers premium produce including our fresh bakery and food-to-go range, as well as fantastic products from local suppliers.
