Arrests over Christmas period

Gardaí from Nenagh district arrested 11 individuals under the Public Order Act during the Christmas period. The majority of these were in the Nenagh area.

An outboard engine was stolen on Lough Derg close to Portroe some time between Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nenagh Garda Station.

A woman had her handbag stolen at Rosemary St, Roscrea, on St Stephen's night. Gardaí were able to identify the suspect, who was arrested and taken to a special sitting of Limerick District Court on December 29, where he was remanded in custody.

Also under investigation is a burglary reported at Tullaskeagh, Roscrea, between December 24 and 27. Entry was gained to the rear of the house and some items were stolen. Gardaí are requesting that members of the public remain vigilant, especially during the dark evenings.

A further appeal for witness information has been made in relation to a criminal damage incident reported at Inchadrinagh, Newport, on St Stephen's Day. A rock was thrown through the window of a house at around 9am.

Meanwhile in Nenagh, a man reported that the tyres of his car were slashed on Summerhill between December 23 and 24. Gardaí are harvesting CCTV footage in the area and appealing for witnesses.

And online phishing incidents continue to be reported to the gardaí in Nenagh. Members of the public are again being asked to be wary of any unsolicited texts purporting to be from a bank, credit union, etc, asking them to click on a link.
