Three Tipperary teams go into quarter final action on Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Munster Post Primary Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship, or more commonly known as the Dr Harty Cup.

The school with the toughest task of making the last four would appear to be Our Lady’s Secondary School Templemore who take on Ardscoil Rís from Limerick in Nenagh.

Ardscoil Rís have won the title five times since 2010, including a final win over the Templemore school in 2013 but Our Lady’s boast a number of last years All-Ireland winning Tipperary side in their ranks, including Paddy Phelan and Jamie Ormond.

Eight-time winners Thurles CBS have been impressive so far but come up against a strong St Colman’s College Fermoy team in Bansha but is a team littered with Tipperary underage players, including goalkeeper Eoin Horgan, Padraig O’Dwyer, Stephen Walsh, Joe Egan Robbie Ryan, and Jimmie Lahart.

The surprise quarter finalist from a Tipperary perspective are Cashel Community School who take on CBC in Kilmallock.

However, they defeated St Flannan’s College Ennis and pushed Ardscoil Rís all the way in their group games so this challenge will hold no fear for them, and they can call on All-Ireland minor winners Darragh Spillane, Jack Quinlan, Eanna Ormond, Oisin O’Donoghue and Adam Daly in their side.
