There is steady interest in the Novice ploughing match on Saturday, March 4, in Ballingarry.

This event is open to both male and females aged between 16 and 35 years. Anyone interested in participating, please call the secretary Denis Cahalan on 087 779 3719 for full details.

North Tipp Ploughing Championships will take place this year on Sunday, March 5, on the lands of Joe Murphy, Ballylina, Ballingarry, E53 NR71, commencing at 2pm by kind permission.

Marking of the site was to take place on Wednesday of this week. There won’t be any admission fee but there will be a bucket collection on the gate with the money raised donated to North Tipp Hospice.

Tickets are now on sale costing €5 each and all members are requested to sell their allotted allocation. The draw will take place on Saturday night, March 25, in the Yanks Inn, Borrisokane.
