Under 20 Football and Minor Football panels named

Tipperary Under 20 Football manager Niall Fitzgerald has unveiled his 35-man panel for the upcoming championship.

The Moyle Rovers clubman is in first year as manager having succeeded Paddy Christie who moved onto manage Longford, with selectors Kevin O’Gorman (JK Brackens), Paddy O’Flaherty (Portroe) and Paddy O’Gorman (Cahir), joined by new selectors Cian Maher (Fethard) and Alan Moloney (Rockwell Rovers).

The panel contains just six of the side that featured in their sole championship game last year, a Munster quarter final defeat to Clare.

Tipperary will get their Munster campaign underway on April 10th in FBD Semple Stadium where they will play Clare at 7.00pm, with the prize for the winners being a semi-final clash with Kerry on April 17th.

Tipperary have been warming up for the championship by competing in the Liam O’Connor Under 20 Development League where they suffered narrow defeats in all three matches against Limerick, Offaly and Clare.

MINOR HURLING

The Tipperary Minor Hurling management team lead by manager James Woodlock have announced their panel for the coming season.

In all a total of 22 clubs are represented across the four divisions and are broken down as follows, Mid – 7, North – 6, West – 5 and South 4.

There are nine players still eligible from last year’s squad which won the Munster & All-Ireland titles with JK Bracken’s Jamie Ormond selected as captain, while Oisin O’Donoghue of Cashel King Cormack’s has been given the vice-captains role.

The players have been preparing diligently since resuming collective training and have played a number of challenge games against tough opposition as they get set to defend both their Munster and All Ireland titles from 2022.

Tipperary will commence their campaign on Monday, March 21st with an away tie against Clare in Sixmilebridge at 7.00pm, then on Monday April 4th, Pairc Uí Chaoimh will be the venue for their clash with Cork at 7.00pm.

Tipperary will then play two home games in FBD Semple Stadium against Limerick on Monday, April 18th and Waterford on Monday, April 25th, both games aT 7.00pm.
