Junior 'A' Football Championship: Newport had a 2-11 to 2-8 win over Kiladangan last Friday in Newport in the second round of the North Junior 'A' Football Championship.
Kiladangan enjoyed a 1-6 to 1-5 half time lead but Newport were dominate in the second half with Jack Delahunty putting in a man of the match performance for the victors, finishing with a tally of 2-8 (2-3 from play). Stephen Mulvihill and Darren Moran (penalty) were the Kiladangan goal scorers.
The Round 3 game will take place on Friday 5th May when Kiladangan will host Portroe in Puckane. The top team in the group will progress straight to the final.
Kilruane MacDonaghs and Roscrea will play their Group 1 game on Friday 5th May with the winner progressing straight to the North Final
Junior 'B' Football Championship: Congratulations to Shannon Rovers who claimed the North Junior 'B' Football title last Friday after a 1-6 to 0-6 final victory over Ballina in Puckane. See match report.
Junior 'B' Hurling League: Group 2 of the North Junior 'B' Hurling league commenced last weekend. On Friday, Lorrha had an impressive 4-20 to 1-14 win over Toomevara in Lorrha. David Fogarty top scored for the victors with 2-3 with Oisin Guinan and Donnacha O'Meara also finding the back of the net. Tim O'Flaherty was Toomevara's top scorer with 1-7 (0-5 frees) with Paddy Toohey (0-3) also prominent.
Round 2 of Group 2 takes place this Friday 28th April with both games throwing in at 7.00pm; Templederry Kenyons host Lorrha whilst Toomevara host Newport.
Group 1 and Group 3 will commence on the weekend of 6th/7th May.

Watch Centre Under 13 Football: Three of the finals of the Watch Centre sponsored North Under 13 Football competitions took place last week.
In the 'A' Final, Nenagh Eire Og had an exciting 3-6 to 4-2 win over Newport. Toomevara claimed the 'B' title after an impressive win over Lorrha whilst Portroe claimed the 'C' honours after defeating Nenagh Eire Og.
The 'D' Final takes place on Wednesday 26th April when Nenagh Eire Og play in their third U13 Final when they face Ballina at 6.30pm in Portroe. Admission is through tickets and a tap and go facility will also be available.
