Sympathy to the Slattery family

The parish of Puckane and Monsea was saddened to hear of the passing of man and wife, Mick and Gretta Slattery, both of whom passed away with in the last few days. The couple were very much the lifeblood of the village. Mick ran a very successful garage and car sales arena while Gretta ran the local post office, which was closed in the 1990s. They were both very much involved in local activities and had huge interest in sport and other areas that affected everyday lives.

Gretta Slattery died on Wednesday, May 3. Her Funeral Mass was held in St Patrick’s Church, Puckane on Saturday, May 6, with burial afterwards in Kilodiernan Cemetery.

On Saturday, May 6, the sad news filtered through that her husband Michael had departed this life. His Funeral Mass took place in St Patrick’s Church, Puckane, followed by interment in Kilodiernan Graveyard.

We express sympathy to their daughter Anne (Staunton), their son Michael, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Mary; their grandchildren Mark, Peter, Claire, Andrew, Rachel, Margaret and Jane; their sisters-in-law, Una and Eileen relatives and friends. May they both rest in peace.
