Art awards ceremony at Nenagh Library
Nenagh Library congratulates Jamie Roche, overall winner in the Tír na nÓg Montessori school art exhibition
Nenagh Library was delighted to welcome young members of Tír na nÓg Montessori pre-school, who with their parents and grandparents, attended a very special awards ceremony on Tuesday last. It was the culmination of a year’s creative work by the children, which had been on display in the library during the month. A very popular exhibition of the most colourful paintings, it went down a treat with the public. However, staff at the library found themselves with the difficult task of picking out an overall winner from this profusion of talent, and it was not an easy task to select one.
But on looking at all the paintings, one did stand out, not only for its colour but its energy and sense of movement. Young Jamie Roche painted ‘Whirlwind’, which was a clear favourite amongst the staff. Presented with his trophy, it was clear that Jamie was delighted and didn’t even mind that his little sister immediately commandeered his prize.
Holding aloft their pictures as they happily posed for proud parents and grandparents, it brought a lively end to this lovely exhibition and we would like to thank everyone involved and extend our congratulations to our worthy winner, Jamie Roche.
