Castletroy respond well against BT Harps

District of Castletroy 3-2 BT Harps

BT Harps travelled to Pearse Stadium last Wednesday and were unlucky to come away the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline against District of Castletroy

The home side were looking to regroup off the back of a defeat to league leaders Ballymackey and responded positively as Saoirse Young, Rosie Young and Áine Young all scored to give the home side a 3-0 lead.

Erin Bourke pulled one back for BT, before Ellen Delaney halved the deficit. Delaney went close again late on to levelling the scores, but the attacker was unlucky to see her free kick hit the crossbar.

Division 2

Newport Town 2-4 Birdhill

Also last Wednesday, Birdhill continued their dominance in Division 2 with an impressive 4-2 win away to Newport Town.

Leah Moran netted both of the home side’s goals, but a Fiona Delaney hat-trick and an Emma Coleman strike were enough to see runaway leaders continue their march to the title.
