Male arrested over Nenagh assault

Gardaí have arrested and charged a male in connection with an alleged serious assault and public disorder incident in Nenagh earlier this month.

Two males were reportedly assaulted on Silver St in the early hours of Monday, August 7. Gardaí investigating this incident have arrested one male and charged him with assault. A garda spokesperson this week said the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected.

Elsewhere, gardaí are investigating two burglaries reported in the last week, one of which occurred at Woodview Close in Nenagh on Thursday, August 10. CCTV footage has been harvested and gardaí are seeking witness information about this incident, which is believed to have occurred around 9am.

Another burglary is under investigation at Ardarra, Portroe. Gardaí are seeking information from anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the estate between 8am and 3.30pm last Friday, August 11.

There have been online further fraud crimes reported in the Nenagh district in recent weeks. One of these involved a business email compromise fraud, in which an email address of a local business was hacked and redirected to another folder. Gardaí are urging business owners to be vigilant of this kind of crime and to report suspicious activity immediately.
