Under 21 'A' Hurling
The semi-finals of the North Under 21 'A' Hurling Championship took place last Sunday. Toomevara had a 0-14 to 0-11 victory away to Ballina with Darragh McCarthy continuing his rich vein of form as he scored 0-10 (7 frees) for the greyhounds.
In the second semi-final, Roscrea took advantage of the breeze to turn around a five point half time deficit to defeat Kiladangan 2-12 to 1-13. A long range Shane Gleeson goal for Kiladangan in the first half helped them to their half time lead. Roscrea turned the tide in the second half with corner forward Jamie Ryan bagging 2-1 for the victors with two well taken goals.
Toomevara and Roscrea will face off in the final this Sunday 12th November at 12 noon in Templederry with John Cleary to officiate. Entry is via tap and go or tickets which are available on the Tipperary GAA website.
Under 21 ‘B’ Hurling
Kilruane MacDonaghs had a 1-19 to 1-15 extra time victory over Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moneygall in the preliminary quarter last Sunday afternoon. Kilruane held a 0-6 to 0-4 half time lead, and they held this lead for the second half until a late 1-1 from Moneygall/Clonakenny levelled the affair - 0-13 to 1-10. Moneygall/Clonakenny held a 1-14 to 0-15 lead at half time of extra time but a Kilruane goal early in the second half reclaimed the lead and they pushed on for victory from there.
Kilruane MacDonaghs will now face Newport in their quarter final clash this Sunday, 12th November against Newport in Newport. Philip Kelly will officiate.
Junior ‘C’ Hurling Final
The North Junior ‘C’ Hurling Final between Kilruane MacDonaghs and Silvermines will take place this Saturday, 11th November at 2.00pm in Toomevara with Brendan Ryan officiating. Entry is via tap and go or tickets which are available on the Tipperary GAA website.
GAA Primary Schools Quiz
The 2023 North GAA Primary School Quiz will be held on Sunday, November 12th in Kiladangan GAA Complex, Puckane, commencing at 6.00pm.
The quiz will cover 2023 season of GAA, LGFA, Camogie, Handball & Rounders.
