Colourful art exhibition

The official opening of the ‘Bláth’ Art Exhibition by Trish Taylor Thompson (TTT) at Nenagh Arts Centre is on Thursday, November 9, at 6pm.

‘Bláth’ by the Tipp-based visual artist features 30 original works in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics and glass inks.

Exploring the impact of climate change on Mother Nature, this latest body of work responds to the ingenuity and ability of flowers to acclimatise to environmental pressures in order to survive. With their inherent capability to adapt, their prospects are blooming great!

Magnolias, sunflowers, oriental lilies, cannonball blooms, lupins, cherry blossoms and winding wisterias are at the heart of this exhibition as is the very vital pollinating bumblebee.

TTT’s main influence is the American modernist artist Georgia O’Keeffe.

You can look forward to seeing flowers in both natural and unnatural habitats.

TTT reminds us to take in the beauty of nature and the botanical world every day. As in the words of Walter de la Mare “Look thy last on all things lovely every hour.”

The event will be officially opened by plants man Seán Cahill, proprietor of the Courtyard Garden Centre in Cloughjordan.

‘Bláth’ runs from Friday, November 10, until Friday, December 22.
