Newport Historical Society has wished all members and friends a very happy New Year as they announced that the society will host their first talk of the 2024 on Tuesday next, January 9, at O'Sullivan's Lounge, Newport at 8pm.

The title of the talk is: ‘Dan Breen - The man behind The Myth. Tipperary's Famous Revolutionary’.

It will be given by John Connors, Borrisoleigh, on the subject of his new book. John has given excellent talks to the society in the past and they are delighted to welcome him back to give this talk on his latest publication.

As always the talks are open to members and non-members with an admission fee of just €5 and a tea and a chat afterwards.
