‘We need your help!’

Ballina Handball Club is appealing for community support in its goal to replace the roof of the local handball alley.

The club is currently taking part in the GAA’s National Club Draw and trying to raise much-needed funds to replace its handball alley roof by selling tickets for the draw. Each ticket sold goes directly to the club fundraiser.

The roof of the alley is currently leaking and previous efforts to repair it have left the club in a position where repair will no longer suffice. The alley roof now needs to be completely replaced. Unfortunately, if this work in not completed in 2024, the alley will not remain playable due to safety reasons, leaving both adult and juvenile members with nowhere to play handball.

“We are appealing to our community to please answer our call for help,” Ballina Handball Club states on its Facebook page.

“Your support could make the world of difference to our club, so that we can carry out the work needed on our roof to keep our club open to our community.”

The National Club Draw has the potential to provide a huge boost to the Ballina club. Each ticket costs just €10, and there are some amazing prices on offer to those who enter. These include a brand-new Dacia Sandero car.

There is also a €10,000 cash prize up for grabs, as well as a series of All-Ireland hurling and football final ticket packages.

Each GAA club involved in the draw is entitled to a maximum of 3,000 tickets, with the potential to raise up to €30,000. This would be of great benefit to Ballina Handball Club.

The draw takes place on March 27th 2024. Tickets can be purchased via email to secretary.ballina.tipperary.handball@gaa.ie or by contacting 0872846521.
