Update on R494 and Killaloe bypass

Update on the traffic management in place from Monday, March 4.

R494 Improvement.

Section 1 (Roolagh Roundabout), no change.

Section 2 (Roolagh to Equestrian Centre), no change. Southbound lane is live with the northbound land closed under temporary traffic lights.

Section 3: Construction of ATC2 to commence adjacent to Larkin’s Garage. Road narrowing in this location but two lanes of traffic, still accommodated.

Section 6: Temporary traffic lights to move further south and bridge Section 6 & 7 following permanent surfacing of new carriageway and Kilmastulla Bridge.

Section 7: Temporary access formed into Shannon Side Business Park and connecting to existing R494 for residents is ongoing.

R494 Detour via R445/R496, no change.

KILLALOE BYPASS

Kincora Roundabout: Manned plant crossing during work hours for plant entering the works area. Proposed phasing for this roundabout, awaiting traffic management plans. Tree felling from March 7.

Hill Road: Staggered junction in effect as per permanent design.

Creeveroe Road: No change. Staggered junction in effect as per permanent design.

Shantraud Roundabout: No change. Three-way temporary traffic lights in place utilising the new roundabout surface.

Clarisford Road: No change. Manned plant crossing during work hours.
