Nenagh Town Team

Work is progressing on the establishment of a Nenagh Town Team as part of the Town Centre First initiative aimed at tackling vacancy and dereliction, and breathing new life into town centres.

Last month’s meeting of Nenagh Municipal District heard that the Nenagh team is made up of 10 volunteers and more are sought. The team would be holding its first meeting in April.

Similar initiatives are underway in Newport, Ballina and Roscrea.

Cllr Joe Hannigan suggested holding a workshop on the town team concept and extending the initiative to the likes of Borrisokane and Cloughjordan.

District Administrator Rosemary Joyce said she would talk to the Town Regeneration Officer about adding other towns to the project.
